Ink Business Preferred Offer Change

We talk a lot about Chase business cards, particularly the Ink Business Cash (our favorite) and the Ink Business Unlimited. However, we haven’t talked much about the Chase Ink Business Preferred. Have you wondered why? The minimum spend on it has always been so high at $15,000 in the first 3 months that it just hasn’t been a great beginner card. In fact, I have never even applied for it. Now Chase has reduced that minimum spend to $8,000 and kept the 100K travel points welcome offer 🎉!

That means all of us at THM are looking at it—the Ink Business Preferred offer change makes it really appealing! It is well known that we love these points, and the ability to earn 100K more of them for only a $95 annual fee, refer a spouse for a referral bonus, and get another 100K points is exciting news. We love these business cards because they won’t count against your 5/24 – whoo hoo!

Do You Have a Business?

Many people have received business cards for very loose businesses. You don’t need to have employees. You don’t need to make a lot of money each year. And you don’t have to have an EIN (Employee Identification Number). Read more about all of that here.

Transfer Directly to Partners

The Chase Ink Preferred allows you to transfer your points directly to Chase transfer partners like Hyatt, United, Southwest, etc. With the Ink Cash or Ink Unlimited, you have to first transfer the points to your Sapphire Preferred or Reserve. Not so with the Ink Preferred!

What Can You Do with 100K Chase Travel Points?

Three Nights at a 5 Star Resort in Kauai

For 30K points a night, you can stay at the Grand Hyatt Kauai. This resort is absolutely beautiful! This was the first hotel Alex ever used points/miles for, and it set the bar high!

We loved our recent stay at the Grand Hyatt Kauai.

6 Nights at the Hyatt Regency Paris Ètoile

At just 15K points a night, you can stay for 6 nights at the Hyatt Regency Paris Ètoile. This skyscraper hotel offers stunning views of the city! We really enjoyed our recent stay there when we were in Paris.

2 Nights at the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome

This is a bucket list stay for sure. The Park Hyatt Paris is incredible, per Jess’ review of it!  It is still on my list of hotels to visit! Being able to stay in pure luxury with one sign-up bonus is something that I am always looking for!

4 Round-Trip Flights to Hawaii from the West Coast Using British Airways

This option is excellent for those who live on the West Coast or in Phoenix. You will be booking your flights to Hawaii using British Airways, but you will actually be flying on an American Airlines plane. The key is you need to find direct flights, and then the cost will be 26K miles per person round-trip. To do this, you must log in to your British Airways account and select “Book with Avios.” You can learn more about this and some other ways you can fly to Hawaii using your Ultimate Rewards by checking out our post all about the best ways to fly to Hawaii on points.

Round-trip Economy Flight to London

You’ll have points to spare if you use 80K points for a round-trip economy flight to London. Taxes and fees are always high out of London, but these are no higher than any other airline and less than many. Air Canada screenshot

Bottom Line

We love our Chase travel points, and the chance to get more of them is prime right now that the Chase Ink Business Preferred offer change is live! Who is jumping on this offer? We are!

Do you know if this is the new standard or is this only for a limited time?

    • Pam says:

Who knows for sure, but we believe this is just a limited-time reduction in minimum spend. Would be great if it was the new standard, though!

  2. Kate Schueler says:

This doesn’t show up with the referral link though, right?

  3. Bryan Mapenzi says:

Just got approved for the card yesterday evening! Super grateful for all three of you. The podcast, blog posts, and overall commentary is so motivating and exciting! We are stockpiling points to fly business on Emirates to Cairo next year from the West Coast and stays in an IHG or Hyatt hotel. Let the strategizing commence!

With this offer would you recommend it as a first ink?
