Family Friday Vacation to Huntington Beach

Pam

Is there a family anywhere that doesn’t love a beach vacation? They are so fun because they offer a perfect combination of relaxation and adventure. The beach provides a beautiful setting for family fun, from building sandcastles to swimming and sunbathing. Overall, beach vacations are ideal for families to bond, make memories, and have a fun and relaxing time together. Family Friday Vacation to Huntington Beach is our destination today!! You can hear more about Southern California destinations on our podcast here.

Getting There

We love using Southwest for family travel because bags fly free, we can use a Southwest Companion Pass, and we can easily get credit cards from Southwest to fly for free. We usually fly into SNA (John Wayne Airport)  because it is only a 30-minute Uber ride to our hotel. You don’t even need a rental car for this trip unless you want to add in a visit to Disneyland or somewhere else.

The beach is right across the street, and there are numerous restaurants one can eat at in the area. Again, having a rental car is optional.

The cheapest way to fly Southwest is to be flexible. We like to look at the 30-day calendar and choose from there. You can see that it is pretty easy to fly for 17K roundtrip per person (even in the busy summer months)!

If a family of four is traveling, it will cost 68K in Southwest Rapid Rewards approximately, or 51K if you have the companion pass.  This one credit card will let you travel on this vacation when it has the higher offer of 65K (a couple of times a year). Alternatively, Player 2 can also apply for it, or you could get a business card.

Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach

The GORGEOUS Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach is a category 6 hotel and can be booked for 21K, 25K, or 29K, depending on your booking dates.  We just LOVE this hotel and area, so it is a great choice if you want a beach vacation.

If Player 1 and Player 2 both get our favorite beginner credit cards, you could stay here for 5-6 nights. Remember that Player 1 can get a referral of 15K for referring Player 2.

I know this is an older post, but I booked it for two nights in July. We are headed to Seal Beach for my son’s basketball team and we booked two nights at a hotel in Seal Beach (using the $50 hotel credit on both mine and my husband’s CSP) and two nights at the Hyatt Huntington Beach. I can’t wait!!
