All About the Hyatt Loyalty Program

Pam

All of us here at Travel Mom Squad are huge supporters of Hyatt award stays. We love the oversized value we get with our award redemptions when we stay at one of their hotels. Their loyalty program may be the best in the business.  Today’s post is all about the Hyatt Loyalty Program.

The Hyatt Loyalty Program has four membership levels: Member, Discoverist, Explorist, and Globalist. You can join for free here.  See program terms for complete details.

Member Status

At the most basic level, you get just a few perks. One of the best is discounted member pricing when booking at hyatt.com. This will be a savings option for you when using cash.

Note the member pricing option.

Additionally, resort fees are waived at participating locations when you use Free Night Awards—this is huge! You can also earn points on stays that count towards free nights.

Discoverist Status

If you hold The World Of Hyatt Credit Card, you will automatically get Discoverist status.  You also get this status after staying at a Hyatt hotel 10 times during the calendar year or having spent 25K basepoints at Hyatt locations. Discoverist gives you all the benefits of Member status plus the following benefits:

  • Bonus point earnings on spend at a Hyatt hotel
  • Premium Internet
  • Two complimentary bottles of water daily
  • Room upgrade on check-in, as available
  • Elite check-in
  • Late checkout to 2:00 pm, as available

All information about the World of Hyatt Credit Card has been collected independently by Travel Mom Squad. The World of Hyatt Credit Card is no longer available through Travel Mom Squad.

Explorist Status

Explorist status is obtained once you have completed 30 nights in a calendar year at Hyatt Hotels or spent $50K basepoints through qualifying Hyatt spend.  With Explorist status, you get all the benefits of the previous status levels plus guaranteed availability at participating Hyatt hotels up to 72 hours in advance. Additionally, you will have hit the 30-night minimum for the next Milestone Reward.

Globalist Status

The king (or queen) of Hyatt status is Globalist Status. Each of us prioritizes obtaining this as it is valuable and allows us a luxury stay.  It is achieved after 60 elite night credits or $100K basepoints spent at Hyatt locations. The additional perks of Globalist status include:

  • Room upgrades including Standard Suites and rooms with Club lounge access, as available.
  • Bonus point earnings of 30% of spending at Hyatt locations.
  • Late checkout of 4:00 pm, as available.
  • Club access or full breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children
  • Complimentary parking on free night awards
  • Early check-in to rooms, as available

Each of us has saved a ton of money with Globalist benefits and successfully upgraded to suites. This is one status that is a priority for us to obtain since we travel frequently.

Milestone Rewards

Hyatt also offers Milestone Rewards as a reward for staying with them. When you reach a certain minimum number of nights stayed, you receive an additional bonus.

20 Qualifying Nights (or 35K Basepoints Spent)

You receive a choice of 2K Hyatt points the next time you stay at certain Hyatt hotels, 2 Club Access Awards, or a $25 Find Experience credit. (I’d choose the Club Access Award).

30 Qualifying Nights (or 50K Basepoints Spent)

  • Category 1-4 Free Night Certificate
  • Choice of 2K Hyatt points the next time you stay at certain Hyatt hotels, 2 Club Access Awards, or a $25 Find Experience credit.

40 Qualifying Nights (or 65K Basepoints Spent)

  • Guest of Honor Award for you or someone else. This award gives the recipient a Globalist experience for their cash or award stay up to 7 nights.
  • Choice of 5,000 bonus points, a Suite Upgrade Award (my pick every time!), or a $150 Find Experience credit.

50 Qualifying Nights (or 80K Basepoints Spent)

  • Choice of 5,000 bonus points, Two Suite Upgrade Award (my pick every time!), or a $150 Find Experience credit.

60 Qualifying Nights (or 100K Basepoints Spent)

  • 2 Guest of Honor Award
  • 2 Suite Upgrade Award
  • Category 1-7 Free Night Award
  • My Hyatt Concierge – personalized, attentive service.

70, 80, and 90 Qualifying Nights

  • Guest of Honor Award
  • Choice of 10,000 bonus points, Suite Upgrade Award, or $300 Find Experience credit.

You can go here to view Milestone Rewards for stays beyond this. None of us has gone past this level of Milestone Rewards, even with our frequent travel schedules.

Using a Suite Upgrade Award gives you extra living space, not just a bedroom.

Bottom Line

In our opinion, the Hyatt Loyalty Program is one of the very best. Membership has its privileges, and Hyatt rewards its loyal guests well. What are your thoughts on their loyalty program?

Question: if we want to do Hyatt Kawaii for 2025 and really want to get globalist for the free breakfast for the family. If I’m reading this correctly if I get 20 stays in 2024 would the 2 club access rewards get myself, husband and two kids free breakfast for 2 nights or for our stay?

  2. Divya says:

How do you get 60 elite night credits? Is it per year or cumulative?

  3. Amanda W. says:

You’ve got a couple typos when describing the amount of spend required to reach each level. You have to EARN 35k, 50k, and 100k base points, not “spend” that many points or that many dollars. Since WOH earn 5 points for every $1 spent at Hyatt, you would need to spend $7k, $10k, and $20k, respectively, at Hyatt properties to earn the different levels of status.
