The Cultivist – A Capital One Benefit

Pam

Recently, Alex and I planned a trip to Paris. Of course, we had to go to the Louvre when we are there. I actually love going to museums. Did you know that cardholders with a Capital One Credit Card can enjoy a great benefit – the Cultivist? This allows access for cardholders, and up to three guests access to over 100 museums all over the world. It also includes skip-the-line access. The cost of this membership, called The Enthusiast, is $40/month, but Capital One cardholders can get access to it for six months just by having one of the following cards:

The full museum list is located here. It includes great museums like the MOMA or Guggenheim in New York City, the Van Gogh in Amsterdam, and the Royal Academy in London. If you look at some of the museums, you can see that some need advanced booking (like the Louvre). Most of them just need you to show your card that you will get digitally once you subscribe. They will ask you to provide a headshot of yourself that they will add to the card.

For the Louvre, I emailed them here and explained when I was planning on going, and they took care of booking it for me and emailed my tickets to me. It was so, so easy. We also used it for the Musee D’Orsay in Paris where we had them arrange our tickets. They are very responsive to emails, so if you wonder whether you need to go through them or just show your card, just send them an email.

Considerations

Since this is just a complimentary 6-month membership, plan to apply when you have a visit that involves some museums. You will have to give them your credit card information, so be sure and cancel it before your 6-months is over to avoid monthly charges. The Cultivist Capital One Benefit is a great option if you love museums, and we saved a fair amount of money using it on our recent trip to Paris.
