We talk about it all the time, but finding award redemptions is the hardest part of booking award travel. Search engines make it easier, and more and more of them are available. Today let’s talk about the Awayz search engine. This site makes it easier to find hotel redemptions, with the plan to add flight redemptions in the future.  Awayz is a subscription service with monthly and yearly price options. Using the Search Engine

To start using the search engine, you must sign up with your email and a password, confirm your email, and signup for a package. (Remember, you can do the one-day trial but don’t forget to cancel it within that 24-hour period).

I wanted to find hotels in Paris during the summer because that is always a harder time to book. I filled out all the necessary information on location and dates, as seen below. You can even pick the distance from the city center that you are willing to go.

 

 

When I click search, the following page comes up:

 

 

You can see that the different hotels are color coded on the map, so you can click on a location you’d like to see and see if it is available. On the left side are hotels and their availability. Not only does it give the price in points, if available, but also the transfer points you can use to book it, and the cost if you want to pay cash.

The hotel sites are linked so that you can double-check the prices. You can search a year in advance for bookings. Many FAQs about the site are answered on their page.

 

Bottom Line

This is a fairly new search engine, so I am sure it will continue to improve and offer new features. In the meantime, I plan to play around with the site and believe it will offer me some additional guidance when booking hotels, especially when I don’t use Hyatt.
